The space
This experience is not like any other, Hideout is not some fancy hotel, it is truly an adventurous experience, rustic and authentic right in the middle of Balinese village life. Hideout is a perfect place for long-time travellers, lovers of nature, a spiritual-minded people, trekking-lovers, backpackers, artists, musicians, and eco-enthusiast to have their own unique Bali experience. We are most happy with environmentally thinking guests, who treat this little bamboo home with love and care.
THE SPACE
The building has two floors, on the first floor, you can find a neat, fully equipped kitchen, cosy living/relaxing area (with extra hanging hammock), wardrobe with safety box, bathroom, and entrance to the outdoor shower. On the second floor, there is a spacious bedroom, providing king size bed with mosquito net (and extra bed 140cm - no mosquito net) all possible to accommodate up to 4 adults if needed. Right in front of the unique triangular window, there are multiple bean bags for reading, cuddling and relaxing, the perfect place for meditation or playing a musical instrument, all with direct view to the shimmering river. Bamboo is well-known for its temperature stability, thanks to natural ventilation, there is no need for AC or a fan. It can be very cold up here. :)
At your arrival, you can be looking forward to a welcome basket full of season fruits. In the kitchen, you will always find Balinese coffee, tea, sugar, salt, and some spices. If you don't feel like cooking, don't worry, we have a delicious Hideout Bistro - a kitchen concept! We provide breakfast (included in the price), lunch and dinner, and all can be brought to your house. We do not yet have restaurant seating, but you can enjoy the meals in the privacy of your Hideout.
Scooter for free! During your stay, you will have available one simple, basic and older, scooter with two helmets. If you are a motorbike racer you might be disappointed :). Always new towels and beddings are also provided.

What is amazing about stay in Hideout? ♡
Solitude. All Hideouts have their own private garden, and we do the best we can to provide you with full privacy and solitude. Closest family warungs are 5-15min away, easy to reach by scooter or by foot.
We love music. That is why we provide you with a nice stereo system and traditional Balinese music equipment.
Hideout is also a shelter for a Kikky the cat, which is super cute and cuddly. You can also meet our friendly Hoki and Tracy dogs if we are in the garden with them. They are the best security for night-time. Don´t book Hideouts, if you have an allergy or if you don´t want to be close to the animals.
You can experience authentic Balinese lifestyle, cultural habits and observe many wonderful things in nature. Especially in the river, that is sometimes used for cleansing ceremonies and baths. It's a wonderful thing to experience.
You can’t lock the bamboo house, you can close the garden gate from the inside.
Hideout is part of local nature, our cleaning standards are at the highest, but that doesn't stop occasional insect, frog or mouse from visiting the house. Please consider this before booking. We are immersed in nature. :) Animals are friends, not enemies.
Did you know that a spider can make a new web in under 1 hour? With our biggest efforts to keep the houses perfect and insect free, you have to expect that there will be some spiders, some bugs and some mosquitos. That is just nature and we can't do anything more for it. If you don't feel comfortable with that, it is better to book a different type of accommodation than a bamboo house.
The Internet is very poor and sometimes not working at all. We recommend being prepared for the off-the-grid experience.
ABOUT US
We are not a hotel, we don't offer hotel services or 24/7 reception. We are true Airbnb experience. :) We are here for you daily from 8am - 8pm. If you want a daily clean-up, please let us know when you check-in.
Beware that the nearest ATM is from a local bank, it only accepts Mastercard. International ATM is about 35 minutes by car away - do come prepared!
Check-in is 3pm - 7pm, please avoid check-in later than 8pm since it is very problematic and in some cases not possible! Check-out by 11am.
LOCATION
Please take a careful look at the map, we are over 90 minutes away from the Ubud and 2 hours from the city of Denpasar and international airport. :)
The closest city is Amlapura, 30min away. There is no night-life here. No bars, clubs, coffee houses or shops with imported products. We are this far from the city by choice. In the middle of rice fields with a calm setting next to the running river.
Hideout is in walking distance from a resort where you can have a lovely dinner in the restaurant with an unforgettable view to Gunung Agung. You can easily reach many traditional small shops/warung. There are so many things to explore around - by foot or by bike. Just to mention.. you can go trekking through the rice fields, explore local waterfall Jagasatru, visit Tirta Gangga, Ujung Temple, go snorkelling or diving, visit night market, visit shaman or local temples, go to experience Pura Besakih, have a wild day of rafting and many more.
Other things to note
River surrounding the land is very clean. You can take a refreshing dip in a natural swimming pool which the river provides. You can observe here many of amazing animal species, lizards of all sizes, enormous butterflies, all you can count dragonflies and fireflies, chameleons, birds of all colours and not to forget our kitten Kikka and dogs Hoki and Tracy. It's a unique experience to fall asleep looking at the fireflies just behind your window. :)
The view from the house is focused directly on one of the most sacred places around, called Campuhan. Campuhan is Balinese term for a place where two rivers meet. This place is regarded by locals as a holy place for centuries. It's a source of holy water for ceremonies and cleansing the body and spirit. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to observe Balinese during their ceremonies and baths. Campuhan is a very magical place, attracting good vibes and positive energy.
By our experience in the Hideout, you can find an enormously inspiring environment, for your writing, music, an art of for work.
