Now that’s a room with a view! This living has a view of the ocean – and of the fire. Talk about double duty. The house is Orchard Way, from West Vancouver architects McCleod Bovell. They pride themselves in designing “complete residential environments” and this house is no exception. That glorious view is the Strait of Georgia, off BC’s west coast. And isn’t this one of the more inventive fireplaces you’ve ever seen? How clever it was to enclose the outdoor portion in glass on both sides. From the living room, you can see the ocean over top of the burning fire. Fire and water. Who says they don’t mix?
